The fully threaded foot  is specifically for decreasing the angle of the target so that  low power factor ammunition will show more reaction and knock down when the spring is removed. It is also used if the shooter has uneven ground and needs to decrease the target angle for a more level target.

HMG™  recommends that you keep an minimum of 8 degrees of angle so that the target system remains safe and spalling continues to be deflected in a downward pattern.
